"MENTAL"

If you have ever wondered if mind-reading is for real, check out Luke Jermay at O’Shea’s in MENTAL. The audience was full of mostly skeptics, myself included, however by the end of this fast-moving show, we were all convinced. This guy is AMAZING!!
Relying purely on instinct and recognition of facial cues, Luke is able to reveal just about everything about a person just by looking at them. In the audience were a former Olympian, a man who was shot when he was ten years old and a woman who broke her leg when she was two. Luke had never met any of these people, and yet was able to pull out all of that detail about them simply from observation. All of the skeptics by the end of the show became true believers. Luke even was able to tell five people their first and last names without ever meeting them, or so much as a hint!
The show runs just over an hour and is performed in a smaller, intimate space, so Luke really gives his personal attention to the audience, a nice touch. The show ends with a spectacular trick in which a lucky audience member has the chance to win $10,000. It’s a great way to leave the audience in suspense as the show comes to its satisfying conclusion. I walked away knowing there had to be some trick to it, but had to accept finally that there just are people in the world who simply can read minds. Luke Jermay is the real deal!

The theater itself is small, but nice, and lends a more intimate setting than some of the larger theaters at the bigger casinos here in town.
This dovetails neatly with Luke’s “MENTAL”. A “mind-reader” of sorts, he has this uncanny ability to do things like guess your childhood best friend, or one of the most embarrassing moments in your life as a teen. The smaller setting allows a more than good chance that YOU will be the person in the spotlight, squirming under some interesting questions and Jermay’s intense gaze.
A very colorful man, and with a quick wit, he explains as he “reads a person” how he is able to do so. He is also not afraid to admit when he can NOT read a person, or makes a mistake. But it is rare that he does make a mistake and is usually able to obtain the correct answers on his own without help from the guest. To say that the show was “mind-blowing” is an understatement. We enjoyed it immensely and would recommend it to anybody, even the harshest skeptic.
