Bill Medley
Best-known as the Righteous Brother with the rich baritone, Bill Medley grew up surrounded by music: his father led a band and played saxophone, while his mother sang and played piano. Medley himself sang in his church choir as a boy, with the glee club in high school, and in the early '60s in his band the Paramours. Soon after, Medley began singing with Bobby Hatfield as the Righteous Brothers, a partnership that spawned hits like "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling" and "Unchained Melody." When the duo parted ways in 1968, Medley pursued a solo career, scoring hits such as "Brown-Eyed Woman" and releasing albums like Soft and Soulful, Nobody Knows, and A Song for You. Medley reunited with Hatfield in 1974, then took a five-year break from performing in 1976. However, he continued to record throughout the '80s, scoring his most notable hit with the Grammy Award-winning, number one single "(I've Had) The Time of My Life," a duet with Jennifer Warnes taken from the soundtrack to Dirty Dancing. Meanwhile, the Righteous Brothers' popularity rose again thanks to the inclusion of "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling" on the Top Gun soundtrack and "Unchained Melody" on the Ghost soundtrack; Medley and Hatfield responded by reuniting again and touring the oldies circuit, which they continued to play throughout the '90s. Medley still found time for his solo career, releasing albums such as 1996's Christmas Memories and the following year's Almost Home, while living with his family in Newport Beach.
Darrin Medley
Being the son of Bill Medley, one of the Righteous Brothers, music played a major part in Darrin's every day life. At the very young age of five, Darrin began singing and playing drums, and by the time he was thirteen had formed his first band and found that the love to perform was in his blood. Through High School and College, Darrin played in a number of Rock Bands, and occasionally appeared with his Dad. Darrin has continued to pursue music as a recording and performing artist. In early 2004 while celebrating his wedding anniversary on a cruise ship, he was called on stage by long time family friend Paul Revere to sing "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling" with the Raiders. It was over two decades earlier that Darrin saw his first Paul Revere and The Raiders concert while they appeared with the Righteous Brothers in Las Vegas. Night after night Darrin watched the show and like many others, became hooked on the great energy, comedy, and music. Since that time Darrin has remained a loyal fan, a close friend, and is the lead singer of Paul Revere and The Raiders.
McKenna Medley
McKenna Medley was born in 1987 to Bill Medley of the Righteous Brothers. She first walked on stage at the age of 2, in front of a stadium of people, (her dad just wanted her to say hello). But since that first second she stepped foot on that stage, she yearned to go back on it. She would later realize that the stage was where she felt most comfortable; there she knew what to do. That is why she has decided to dedicated her life to making this her career. The first time she got the chance to sing on stage, was when she hit the ripe ole’ age of 6 years old, and was already doing Everly Brother’s harmonies- not too well yet… but not too bad either.
The lovely McKenna Medley is a sight-to-see and a powerful voice you must hear for yourself! She has been around the music industry all her life and this young lady has definitely earned much respect for her beautiful vocals. McKenna was voted 2008 Best Local Solo Female Musician by 417 Magazine! McKenna says she is a “huge Connie Francis fan” and when she sings “Where the Boys Are”, it sounds incredible! Her vocal style is especially reminiscent of that great 50’s sound. She does a great tribute to some female singers at Bandstand. She has a clear, strong voice and you’ll love hearing her sing hits like “Lipstick on Your Collar”, “Da Doo Ron Ron (I met him on a Monday and my heart stood still”). “It’s in His Kiss”, “It’s My Party”, and “I’m Sorry”. McKenna also sings “My Boy Elvis”, which she tells the crowd was sung on American Bandstand in 1957.
